A zipper storage bag, slider storage bag, zipper bag, or zippes is an inexpensive flexible rectangular storage bag, usually transparent, made of polyethylene or similar plastic, that can be sealed and opened multiple times, either by a slider that works similarly to a zip fastener or by pinching the two sides of a mechanical sealing mechanism with one’s fingers. The bags come in a variety of sizes, with the smallest measuring 1.5 by 2.5 inches (3.8 cm 6.4 cm) and the largest measuring 9 by 12 inches (23 cm 30 cm). The thickness (gauge) of the material varies; smaller bags are generally 40 to 45 m thick.
Many of these bags are used to store goods such as sandwiches and frozen meals. For simplicity and visibility, single and numerous tiny objects for sale are frequently bundled in compact zipper bags. For plastic bags, there are several sorts of reclosable characteristics.
Other sorts of bags, such as a fabric bag for toiletries with a traditional zip clasp, are occasionally referred to as zipper bags.
